Conclusions

Most users are equipped for 1024 pixel wide web sites and can see high quality graphics. We can thus produce website with a width of 1024 pixels and we have to be aware that the quality of graphics makes a huge difference.

We need to consider Windows and Firefox standards and default settings and test our sites permanently to make sure visitors see our site the way we want. Browser default settings can be overwritten by editing your style-sheet.

With the evolution of monitors, operating systems and other equipments, the tools for web designers have evolved as well. Also some popular tools such as Web Graphics Creator make it easy for anyone to create quality graphics.

Digital cameras allow anyone to shoot good pictures which can easily be associated with written content to make posts more attractive.

In other words: to make the difference, we need to take care of details and we need to build more technical knowledge. Or, we need to outsource to meet customer expectations.

The present Basic Web Design Workshop shows, how we can get in control of our website and it’s behavior on one hand, on the other it also shows, what actually is needed to build a meaningful and efficient website.

Web Design is not mastered in just a few hours. It’s technical, it’s creative, it’s a profession.
