Web design Workshop 14 Layout with Semiomantics XO

Semiomantics XO includes multiple layouts and we can play with site width, sidebars as well as some additional elements to modify the look and feel of our site with just a few mouse clicks.

1. The Site width

Under Semiomantics XO Layout in your Dashboard you can choose between a site width of 800 pixels and 1024 pixels.

2. The Sidebars

You may choose between 1 or two side bars and select their width between 360 pixels and 180 pixels. You also can choose between three different positions of the sidebars.

The Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support are needed..

3. My Project – My choice

My Project foresees a 2 column website layout. On 800 pixel width, there is no room for a second sidebar. On a site of 1024 pixels with, we could add a 180 wide sidebar, whereas the first sidebar of 360 pixels serves as the second content column.

I finally opt for a 1024px wide site with a second sidebar for commercial content, namely items from the Semiomantics shop.
